Steel spheres, hidden light.

MT.A designed Pause around one piece: a soft-blue shelving system that seems to float. The shelves rest on polished steel spheres around a two-part steel pole from floor to ceiling. The wiring for the shelf lights runs inside the pole, so nothing is visible — and nothing moves.

What we made

01Shelving system. Blue painted shelves on a two-part steel pole, held on polished steel spheres, with LED in every shelf.

Look closer.

Each shelf sits on a steel sphere around the pole. The cable for its light runs up inside the pole and into the shelf — you see the light, not the wire.
